Loved this video! I have been a substitute teacher in classrooms with a slideshow like this and it makes live SO SO SO much better. Otherwise there is no way for me to know the routines and expectations for the class. It allows me to focus more on the students in the moment and less on wondering what I should do next with them.

I am so excited that you are back, I have missed your vlogs. I am a 3rd year Special Education Teacher. This year I am moving into a self contained classroom, and I super nervous. Your videos have helped alot answering alot of questions. I would love it if you would do a video on how to establish routines and procedures for special education students during the first weeks back to school.

I'm so excited for you! Your joy for the upcoming year is contagious. I'm actually going to be a teacher consultant this fall, after being a resource room teacher for 11 years. I'm excited for the change, but the closer the fall gets, the more anxiety I feel about the position. I really hope I love it. But I had to try for it because my work/family/personal time balance has been atrocious, and I think this will help. I'm glad you had yours figured out! Maybe when my kids are older it will be easier for me and I can go back to the classroom. I was hoping you would make more vlogs about your admin position, but I'm still looking forward to more teaching vlogs from you. You do you! I'm glad to hear all the positivity. We need more of that in education!!

That’s interesting. I’m a new teacher and I feel that way about becoming a teacher and not a paraprofessional. I really loved my job as a paraprofessional. When I became a teacher last year I had so much anxiety. I’m making more money as a teacher but I liked my role as a paraprofessional a lot more. Money is not everything.

Welcome back! It’s great to see content from you again! I have a similar experience- I returned to the classroom after doing administration for several years. Moving back to the classroom has definitely increased my joy and has reinvigorated my love for teaching. It’s not without challenges, but that is true of any role. So much of what you said about your admin experience resonates with me - I had a very similar feeling about it. For me I got to a point where I felt so far removed from my initial why. Moving back to the classroom has been wonderful. I hope you have an amazing school year and good luck with all of your life changes!! You are a gem! ❤

I had an interview today to get back into teaching after a year off!!! I feel like getting this video in my notifications is a good omen that I'm making the right choice to go back to teaching :) here's to a great school year!!!

I'm 54 and working through my credential and currently love my intern position as a Sped resource specialist...I found your channel a couple of months ago and have learned so much from your experiences and knowledge! I added task boxes and independent work stations in my resource and had a lot of success with it. You are so amazing and I'm so hapoy that your sharing this and look forward to being inspired by your ideas. Hope you know how beautiful it is to see someone a lot younger than myself gain so much life wisdom and make choices for themselves ...you are celebrated !! I'm a mom to young adults and navigating for better overall health is a huge thing!!! Love from CA !

Omg! I had an unassigned mentor (who saved me), and an assigned mentor. The unassigned mentor showed me the ropes and helped me gather used materials, which I loved and valued!

I’m about to start my first year special needs teacher. I am so stressed but this video brings me so calmness.
